Course Description

The course aims to deepen the theoretical knowledge and practical application in the production of ornamental plants. Students are trained in the technique of under-cover or outdoor cultivation of flowering plants. Upon completion of the course, students are expected to know: The growing environment of indoor and flowering plants producing sessile flowers (environmental and - greenhouse conditions) and how this affects growth and flowering, the ways and techniques of growing them (in soil, in hydroponics, etc.), the basic principles of fertilization and application of phytoregulatory substances, propagation techniques (both natural and artificial), pests and diseases, methods of control and management in the context of the integrated approach, conservation and standardisation of flowering plants, as well as information on domestic and international trade, promotion, marketing and distribution on markets.
